Well made piece - better than expected

We were looking for a reasonably priced sofa table or buffet for our foyer and found this lowboy. Clean looks cherry finish and mission style were what attracted us. I believe it is constructed of Rubberwood (Parwood) and is made in Malaysia.



Pros:



1) Good quality finish - wood and stain.

2) Lots of spare hardware - all separated by type in different bags.

3) Clear instructions and easy to assemble.

4) Not made in China! I hate Chinese junk.

5) Securely packaged with lots of foam - ships in two boxes to keep weight down.



Cons:



1) Expensive shipping (approx. $60)



Not fancy by any means but overall a great buy - very pleased.

Large Buffet

I would have given this review five stars were it not for the fact that assembly was difficult even with two people - not due to the design but to the awkwardness of the process.

seller needs to inspect product before shipping

This product arrived with a serious finish flaw right on the top piece. This frankly makes it very unlikely that I will ever buy a product of this type online again unless I can return it locally. This unit had it been made in a country where labor is decently paid would surely have been either repaired or labeled a second.



Next day: if it were possible to edit my star rating I would bump it up to 3 stars because Home Decorators service is so good. I filled out their online survey yesterday noting the above complaint. Within an hour or so of filling out the survey I received an email from them offering service & a $30.00 discount on any future purchase. This on a Sunday on memorial day weekend.More detail ...

Big Look for a Little Price

Let's be real here - at this price you aren't buying fabulous well-made furniture. What you DO get for the money is a large console/buffet which looks pretty good. It's average quality particle board and the back piece is painted cardboard - but the cardboard isn;t structural so it's fine. You can also leave the back off if you prefer. I just finished putting mine together and the drawers slide well the finish is nice and it's perfect in my crafts room. It would be equally at home in a dining room entry way or any other room. All the parts were included. The instructions were fairly good meaning I was able to put it together in about three hours. I'm happy enough with it that I'm buying another one.More detail ...

Sturdy Attractive Useful

When we moved into our new house we found we needed some extra counter and cabinet space. This lowboy has been wonderful. I am able to store all of my pots and pans in it-8 6 4 3 2 and 1 quart pots with their lids 5 frying pans and six stainless steel bowls-with no problem. There is ample space on top for keeping other items. It is made of stury solid wood with an attractive finish. My husband was able to put it together with no problems.More detail ...

Watch the color

Just received the unit ordered in a light oak. Be aware that the color shown is NOT the color you will receive. The color is more like an orange a real orange color much like the old pine cabinets of the 50's. Doesn't look like the picture nor any kind of "light oak" I've ever seen. I'm going to use it however I will apply a coat of stain-sealer to cover the yellow color. Assembly is straight-forward; no difficulties no missing parts.More detail ...
